Gunner
Gunner, a yellow Labrador with a heart as golden as his fur, trotted off to the great duck blind in the sky on December 8, 2024, at the age of 12. Born with an innate gift for hunting and an unparalleled love for life, Gunner was more than just a dog—he was a family member, a companion, and a legend in his own right.
Gunner’s life was one of balance and brilliance. By day, he was the Michael Jordan of duck hunting, retrieving with precision and enthusiasm that left everyone in awe. There wasn’t a goose, duck, or stray feather that dared escape his watchful eye. But by evening, Gunner traded his outdoor prowess for snuggles on the couch, happily nestling up with his beloved family, especially the grandkids, who were his favorite humans.
A master of multitasking, Gunner could go from licking your face with unbridled affection to chasing a bird with laser focus in a heartbeat. His soulful eyes and ever-wagging tail made him a friend to all who met him. Neighbors, fellow hunters, and even the occasional squirrel would agree—Gunner was one of a kind.
Though his paws will no longer leave prints in the marshes or on the living room rug, Gunner’s spirit will forever echo in the laughter of children, the rustle of leaves on a crisp fall morning, and the calls of the ducks overhead.
Gunner leaves behind a legacy of loyalty, love, and unforgettable memories. May he forever roam fields of endless ducks and couches of eternal comfort.
Rest easy
