Our Process

From the moment your pet is placed in our care to when they return home, each step is handled with the highest standard of care.

Step 1 — Making arrangements

When you call, we’ll gently walk you through next steps and answer any questions. Together, we’ll arrange either a home or veterinary transport, or a time for you to bring your pet to one of our locations.

Transportation pricing can vary based on distance, while bringing your pet to us during regular hours (9am–4pm) is always available at no cost.

At this time, we’ll also review keepsake and urn options, provide a clear quote, and send a simple authorization form to complete.

Step 2 — Receiving your pet

When your pet is received into our care, they are assigned a unique metal identification tag. This tag remains with them throughout the entire process.

If you’d like, personal items such as a blanket or collar can be included with your pet.

Step 3 — Keepsakes and preparation

We begin by creating any memorial keepsakes you’ve selected, such as paw prints or a lock of fur.

From there, your pet is carefully prepared for transport to our private, local crematory.

Step 4 — Private cremation

Our privately owned crematory is located at Stevensville Cemetery in Stevensville, MD and is staffed by certified and well-seasoned crematory operators.

Every pet entrusted to us is cremated individually (never communally). This ensures that your pet’s remains are always kept separate and are returned only to you.

Throughout this stage, we’ll send a brief update, so you know where things stand and what to expect next.

Step 5 - Return home

After cremation, your pet’s remains are returned to our Chester location and placed in the urn you’ve selected.

We’ll then contact you to coordinate pickup at the location most convenient for you.

Most pets are ready to go home within about a week.
