When a Pet Passes

Losing a pet can feel sudden and overwhelming.
There is no “right” way to move through this moment.

You do not need to rush.

When you are ready, we are here to help.

If Your Pet Has Passed at Home

First, take a breath.

If possible, move your pet to a cool, dry area out of direct sunlight. A shaded or climate-controlled space indoors is sufficient.

You do not need to refrigerate your pet. Some families wrap them in a favorite blanket while awaiting transport.

Many families call within 24 hours, and it is often appropriate for a pet to remain at home for several hours or overnight in a cool indoor space.

If you would like private time before making arrangements, that is completely okay.

When you feel ready, call us and we will gently guide you through the next steps.

If Your Pet Has Passed at a Veterinary Clinic

We can guide you from here.

Many veterinary clinics work directly with us.

You may let your clinic know that you would like Shore Pet Cremation to handle arrangements. In most cases, we will need to speak with you briefly to confirm your wishes before proceeding.

If you would prefer to speak with us first, you are always welcome to call.

We will coordinate the arrangements and keep you informed along the way.

What Happens Next

We will take it step by step.

When you call, we will ask a few simple questions to understand your preferences and make arrangements.

We will explain the process clearly and answer any questions you may have. You do not need to have everything figured out before calling.

Transportation is available 24/7 for an additional fee. If you prefer to bring your pet to one of our locations, we will provide instructions when you call.

We provide individual cremation only. Your pet is handled separately, and your pet is always returned to you.
