Bella

Today we say goodbye to Bella, our brave and buoyant Portuguese Water Dog who filled our lives with joy, loyalty, and an unstoppable zest for life. From the moment she bounded into our home—wet paws, wagging tail, and a grin that seemed to say, “Let’s go!”—Bella turned ordinary days into small adventures.

Bella loved water in every form: puddles, baths, rivers, and the backyard sprinkler. Her curly coat would glisten after a swim and her happiest moments were earned when she could retrieve a worn tennis ball, shaking it free with a proud toss. She had a cheerful, curious spirit, always ready to greet guests with a friendly bark and a wag that made everyone feel instantly welcomed. At home she was equally devoted—never far from our side during walks, always quick to offer comfort with a warm head on a lap during quiet evenings.

She taught us about patience, persistence, and the simple pleasures of play. Bella's goofy antics—zooming across the yard in sudden bursts of energy, performing her signature happy dance when treats appeared—will forever be remembered and reenacted in our hearts. Her intelligence and gentle nature made her a steady companion through good times and bad, a true member of the family.

Though Bella has swum ahead across the rainbow bridge, her love remains with us in every shared memory: the damp pawprints on the doormat, the favorite ball tucked under the couch, and the echo of her happy bark on summer nights. We are grateful for every walk, every splash, and every quiet cuddle.
